Green Hydrogen

Enabling Energy Transition

Green Hydrogen is produced using renewable energy to power the electrolysis of water, splitting it into its components, hydrogen and oxygen. Zero emission hydrogen is produced for use as an energy source, a raw material, or for energy storage. For most applications, cleaning the hydrogen is required for use in downstream processes. Since 1960 more than 20,000 MECS® Brink® mist eliminators have been installed in similar applications, cleaning chlorine and hydrogen gas streams from chlor-alkali electrolysis processes and removing condensed water from compressed air. In the green hydrogen industry, Brink® mist eliminators provide high-efficiency removal of all free liquids regardless of the electrolysis technology employed, recovering electrolyte and/or water from the hydrogen and oxygen streams and returning them to the process. This also improves the efficiency of the purification system, extending the desiccant life and reducing the green energy and clean hydrogen needed to regenerate the desiccant.
